Drew Patterson Studios was hired under contract by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT) to create a completely new exhibit (titled The Alamo: A Story as Big as Texas) in the Long Barrack on the grounds of the Alamo. We worked with Dr. Richard B. Winders, Alamo staff curator and historian, to create the content and curate the artifacts for the new exhibits. The project included lighting design, artifact case design, traffic flow and floor plan, content management, archival document and imagery research and procurement, graphic design, artifact handling and display design, as well as consultation concerning future plans for the Alamo. The Alamo is the site of famous 1836 Battle of the Alamo, one of the most important events in the history of Texas’s fight for independence from Mexican rule.
